Sonja
R. Price, Executive Assistant
 Graduating
from Bronx Community College (CUNY) with a degree in Liberal Arts, Sonja’s
original career goals were in the music and arts field where she zealously made
her way through the industry. Taking a position with gospel’s largest recording
label (at that time). She became extremely popular in the gospel music world
for her personable disposition and vocal talent. As competition grew from other
upcoming record labels, Sonja left her company to pursue greater success. In
1999, while waiting on a response from a competing label, she accepted a temporary
position as Receptionist, with Rainbow PUSH.
Ms. Price was moved by the work of the Wall Street Project. The
passion and dedication of the staff made her
realize she wanted to be a part of it and help change corporate America as we
know it. Sonja remains the Receptionist, as well as the Executive Assistant to
Andrew Carr, and support to the staff. She also works with Rainbow PUSH’s
Constituency Services where she helps the general public with racial & discrimination
issues in the workplace, giving assistance in finding lawyers, advising parents
on what to do when they feel their child is being mistreated by their school
system, and helping wherever help is needed; which sometimes involves simply
giving an encouraging word.
A native New Yorker, Sonja and her daughter Jessica
are faithful members of the Citadel of Praise and Worship Church where Dr. Kevin
Bond is the Pastor in Brooklyn where they live.
